Peaches Christ Productions is proud to co-present this revolutionary dragstravaganza: THE SAN FRANCISCO ALBUM PROJECT! Witness some of the city’s most beloved drag artistes coming together to celebrate the fine, low-art of Lipsynch & Appropriation. The premiere is on Sunday, May 19th @ 8:00pm at THE CHAPEL – San Francisco’s newest music venue located at 777 Valencia Street, in the heart of the Mission District. The first show will be a re-envisioning of the 1982 debut album by Electronic music pioneers Yaz – their groundbreaking Upstairs At Eric’s.
Made up of performer and producer veterans from the legendary scenes, clubs and theatres of the last 20 years, The San Francisco Album Project is committed to bringing an inventive, theatrical and narrative aesthetic to the art of the lip-sync. Taking the format of the ‘classic album’ as the text to build off of, The San Francisco Album Project hopes to honor the source material as much as present to the audience a never before thought-of or imagined interpretation of what is already very charged and fundamental music. The troupe itself is mutable in size, made up of almost 20 members: performers, directors, producers, set designers, stagehands, DJs, and video artists.
The main performers for this inaugural event consists of: Stanley Frank (Daytime Realness, Tiara Sensation, SOME THING); U-Phoria (Mascara, TheOffCenter, Trannyshack); Elijah Minnelli (Peaches Christ Productions, SOME THING, Tiara Sensation, Trannyshack), Dia Dear (SOME THING, Trannyshack); Nikki Sixx Mile (SOME THING, Tiara Sensation, Trannyshack); Raya Light (CounterPULSE, Peaches Christ Productions, Thrillpeddlers, Trannyshack); Trixxie Carr (CounterPULSE, Peaches Christ Productions, SOME THING, Trannyshack); Kim Burly (Trannyshack); Jordan L’Moore (PEPPERSPRAY, Trannyshack); Precious Moments (BULB, CounterPULSE, PEPPERSPRAY, Thrillpeddlers, Trannyshack). Future nights will include performances by Fauxnique, Vivvyanne Forevermore, and Evan Johnson.
