Peaches Christ Productions Proudly Presents
The Full Frontal Farewell: The Final Annual Screening of
Night of 1,000 Showgirls Returns
With All Your Favorite Lapdancers of the Last 20 Years!
As always, FREE Lap-dances with every large popcorn
The Castro Theatre, Saturday May 20th
This event marks Peaches Christ's 20th Annual screening of the best movie ever made and in honor of such an important anniversary, Peaches promises an XXX-tra special Goddess Spectacular pre-show celebration!
After first putting Paul Verhoeven’s 1995 opus SHOWGIRLSon the map as a cult classic in 1998 with a midnight screening at the Bridge Theatre, Peaches Christ has celebrated it every single year since. Her unforgettable pre-shows have transformed from scrappy no-budget midnight spectacles into lavish, star-studded affairs at the Castro Theatre.
And while Peaches will continue celebrating Showgirls one way or another for the rest of her life, particularly as the acclaimed stage musical she directed last summer at the Victoria Theatre, this 20th annual celebration of the film will mark the end of an era: the final classic pre-show/screening presentation.
So dust off those glittery g-strings and come on down to the Castro Theatre on May 20 to bid farewell to this time-honored yet dishonorable San Francisco staple. Consider this extravaganza the final fondle, because we’re really blowing our load on it. And be prepared for a swarming barrage of legendary lap-dancers the likes of which you’ve never experienced before — or have tried very hard to forget.
Audiences are invited to make this sendoff especially trash-tastic by dressing up in their sluttiest Cheetah nighties or their finest Goddess sequined lewks. Because at the end of the day, they’re all just dancers! For those who can’t fathom the idea of eating brown rice and vegetables, grab that LARGE buttery popcorn at the concession stand — because with every salty purchase, audience members will receive a personalized lapdance by Peaches’ legion of live "dude-girls" to get you in the mood and make you feel like Cristal just paid your way into the champagne room.
And so, like Nomi and Cristal’s farewell hospital make-out session, let’s give this annual institution the big messy sticky finish it deserves. Whether you’ve been attending from the beginning or have been meaning to buy a ticket for years, this is your last chance to take part in this bonafide piece of San Francisco queer cultural history.
SHOWGIRLS (1995, Paul Verhoven) is an MGM release that tells the classic story of a young woman, Nomi Malone (Elizabeth Berkely), who dreams of being a dancer under the bright lights of the Las Vegas skyline. Catching the glittery eye of Stardust Casino’s showgirl, superstar Cristal Conners (Gina Gershon), Nomi sees an opportunity for her desire to become real. But there is only room for one star on the marquee as the battle of the showgirls begins.
Advance tickets are now on sale and further event details, additional cast-members, and more will be announced soon!
